Job summary
We are looking for an administrator to join us as a research administrator in the NIHR Patient Recruitment Centre (PRC) based at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust on the Leicester General Hospital site.
This is an opportunity to join the Research & Innovation (R&I) department to work at our recently opened National Institute for Health Research (NIHR)-funded Patient Recruitment Centre (PRC) for commercial research.
This is a full time post, based at Leicester General Hospital. Travel may be required between sites within the Trust and to Primary Care locations within Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire to support departmental activities.
For this role you must be able to attend the office in person.

Main duties of the job
All research facilities are designed to deliver clinical effectiveness, safety and a positive patient/volunteer experience in a consistent way.
As a research administrator you will provide administrative support to the PRC clinical delivery team and PRC Research Business Manager.
The team set-up, recruit participants and deliver a range of commercial research studies across clinical specialties.
The post-holder will be allocated to the PRC at LGH.
Travelling across UHL 3 sites (Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester General Hospital and Glenfield Hospital) may be required.

To process routine enquires and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner, including drafting response letters, under the guidance of designated members of the management team.
To enter details from case report forms, questionnaires, etc. onto the research management databases in order to collate statistics for reports.
Responsible for the organisation, co-ordination of meetings, including minutes, liaising with internal staff at all levels and external bodies as appropriate and working cross site as required.
Arrange meetings on behalf of a study team and Principal Investigator, and organise research participant appointments and transport.
To receive telephone calls and visitors, including research participants to the department, and to handle general enquiries and refer callers to the appropriate individual, departments or hospitals.
To undertake photocopying.
To maintain effective working systems to aid the prioritising of work inclusive of managing an active bring forward system.
Responsibility for the management and maintenance of an efficient filing system both manual and computer based.
To manage and deal effectively with all incoming post, e-mails and personalenquiries using initiative and knowledge to determine the necessary involvement.
To produce a high standard of work at all times, in particular when working under pressure, in order to meet deadlines.
To liaise with all levels of staff to ensure effective communication is maintained.
